Duško Dimitrovski, Austria
Journalist and film critic. Born in Skoplje in 1949, graduated from secondary school and Law School in Sarajevo. Member of staff at the arts and culture section in the daily newspapers Oslobođenje, writer for the film journal Sineast. His articles and film reviews were published in a number of film journals and magazines in former Yugoslavia: Filmska kultura/ Film Culture (Zagreb), Filmograf/ Filmograph (Beograd), Ekran/ Screen (Ljubljana), Kinopis (Skoplje) …
Member of a jury at film festivals in Pula and Sarajevo, he now lives in Vienna and works for the Austrian Film Archive, as an expert in South-Eastern Europe cinema. One of organisers and curators of the following film retrospectives in the Austrian capital: Welcome to Sarajevo, Süsse Träume – Filme aus Slovenien and Magische Balkan. Co-author of the book Die siebte Kunst auf dem Pulverfass, published in Graz (Austria). One of the former directors of the Film Club Riječi mladih/ Words of Youth in Sarajevo, association in which some of the renowned film authors started their careers: Danis Tanović, Emir Kusturica, Ademir Kenović, Ines Tanović and Nedžad Begović. Dimitrovski’s awarded short films were also produced by the association: Vita,Vitae, I bi svjetlost/ There Was Light and Danix. Dimitrovski produced a specialised film and film music radio show titled Svjetlosti pozornice/ Stage Lights, with 250 editions broadcasted on former Radio Sarajevo, and in recent years he appears on Bosnia and Herzegovina Television as film critic for the SFF festival chronicle, with a special section Film of the Day. He is reporting and reviewing a number of film festivals, including the top notch festivals such as Cannes and Berlin.Merel Mirage, Netherlands
Artist-producer based in Amsterdam. After living and making personal video works in countries such as Nicaragua, Japan, and Tibet, Mirage received her post-graduate degree in Media Arts with Honors from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Germany. She has been creating and exhibiting a diverse body of works, including video and interactive installations, documentaries, websites, on-line softwares, and public art. Her art works have been screened and exhibited at festivals, galleries, and museums in more than 25 countries including the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), the Reina Sofia Museum (Madrid), the ICA (London), the Rotterdam International Film Festival (Netherlands) and several times at the Venice Biennale (Italy). With her long term art project HOLY Animationplatform (www.holy.nl) Mirage connects art, the internet and public spaces: a network of nine Holy Internet vending machines are placed in schools, libraries, an embassy and a TV-station. With her most recent project “Scale Down Challenge” (www.scaledownchallenge.nl) Merel addresses sustainability issues in an unusual way.Ivan Vidić, Croatia
