Curator, lecturer and writer specialising in experimental and artists’ film, and independent cinema. She is programme advisor for the BFI London Film Festival Experimenta section of Artists’ Moving Image and has curated programme for the BFI, Tate, ICA, Lux, Barbican in London and Contemporary Arts Centre Poland; Uplink Tokyo; Moscow International Film Festival; Feminale Germany; MediaWave Festival Hungary; Belarus International Women’s Film Festival; Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art and MUU Media Festival Finland. She is associate lecturer in Film Studies at Birkbeck University of London and at University of the Arts London, faculty member at Boston University London and a visiting lecturer at University College London and at the National Film and Television School. She is a director of The Service Co-op, an independent production company dedicated to producing films that promote social impact, the arts and creative collaboration. Author of the debut feature-length trilogy (Because of You – 2016, Fuck Off I Love You – 2017, Happy End: Dumb & Dumber 3 – 2018). His fourth feature film “Till the End of Death” premiered last year at Split Film Festival 2018, and he is currently working on another trilogy and completing the shooting of one feature film and one documentary. He has directed numerous music videos for foreign and local performers, promotional films and commercials. Author of articles and books on film, active promotor of media culture in Croatian primary and secondary schools. Was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1971. From 2000 to 2007, he studied media art at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. From 2008 to 2016, he was an artistic assistant at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg. Since 2008, Bernd Schoch has been a member of the collective Dokumentarfilmwoche Hamburg.
