Dum Spiro Spero is a Latin saying meaning As long as I breathe, I hope. Still today it is the motto of all those who persevere to the very end, literally and metaphorically. Combining everyday life, books and death, the author Pero Kvesić speaks about losing life strength and the power to cope with it. By trading a keyboard for a camera, the author writes a documentary visual essay. His personal point of view introduces us to the world he is saying goodbye to, enjoying every moment.
Pero Kvesić
Born 1950 in Zagreb and graduated in sociology and philosophy from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. In 1977 he launched Polet, a magazine for young readers, and acted as its first editor-in-chief. He was editor-in-chief at Pitanja and in 1984 he launched the Quorum magazine and publications, publishing a large number of prose works, several poetry collections and several novels for children and picture books. In 1987, mentored by Dušan Vukotić, he prepared a series, writer’s concept and character concept of the animated serial Mali leteći medvjedići. He is also the author of several TV dramas and documentary shows and films. He worked on the screenplay of the film Samo jednom se ljubi (You Only Love Once) by Rajko Grlić. Since 2006 he has been writing the blog called Čovjek-vadičep sreće ženu-ribu.
