Yang Qiu
Was born and raised in Changzhou, China. In 2013, he was selected to the directing course at the Victorian College of the Arts, Australia. In 2015, his short “Under the Sun” was selected for the 68th Festival de Cannes cinéfondation and was the only Asian short film in the Official Selection. It was then selected for more than 40 international film festivals, including the prestigious AFI Fest, New Directors/New Films, Slamdance, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs and nominated for the Best Short Film award at the 52nd Taipei Golden Horse Award. The film has also been shown at the prestigious Cinémathèque Française in Paris and New York MoMA and Film Society of Lincoln Center. He is currently developing his first feature project, which was selected for the CineMart 2016.
